Description:
In the time of Inca Pachaqutec there was a very respected general in his army, general Ollantay, who won many battles. One day, Pachaqutec received Ollantay and said: “I highly appreciate your services and I would like to award you. Ask me anything you like.” Thereupon, Ollantay asked the hand of his daughter Qollyur. That however went too far and Pachaqutec denied his wish. Although in such cases in those days, it would have been custom to sacrifice his daughter, Pachaqutec only kept her inside and forbade her to go out. Nevertheless, Qoyllur and Ollantay had been lovers for some time and Qoyllur turned out to be pregnant. Meantime, father Pachaqutec passed away and his son Tupac Yupanqui, the new Inca, allowed for the wedding.
