Visitors to this website who would like to purchase any of our products or services need to be 18 years or older and legally entitled to enter into a contract with us. Visitors who purchase products or services offered here, are responsible for reading and understanding the provisions made in these terms and conditions. If the provisions indicated here are not clear or if you don’t agree to some of them, please refrain from purchasing the published products or services.
Rates may be subject to change, reflecting changes in the cost of materials, wages, insurance etc. In case any changes apply, you will be informed of these changes in writing before your purchase is made.
Surco Tapestry Art offers customized rates for commissioned art and tapestries of limited edition that can be requested at shop@surcotapestryart.com. We will respond promptly.
Group bookings of 10 or more people to our presentations, workshops and other events are liable to a discount. Please check with our booking office, book@surcotapestryart.com.

The information is used to communicate with you. We also keep a customer registration, so we can confirm any time if an original piece was sold to the specific customer. This is preserving the value of your work of art.
We offer three methods of payment: credit cards, bank deposits and money transfer. All advance payments should be made by either one of them.
We accept the following credit cards: VISA CARD, MASTER CARD, AMERICAN EXPRESS and DINERS CLUB for online payments.
In case you have a VISA card, we will send you a corresponding link asking you to complete an online form to process your payment.
In case of other credit cards, you are kindly requested to complete and sign a form that will authorize us to charge your card.
Once you return the form (by email) we will apply it in our payment system and you will be informed of the result. Credit card payments do not affect additional charges.

All tapestries produced by Surco Tapestry Art are of the highest quality craftmanship. All tapestries are hand-woven at our workshop in Ancawasi (Cusco, Peru). Please note that as all art is hand-made small differences among works of art in a same edition may occur. We work with limited and numbered editions only. Unique pieces are listed as such and may be of special interest to art collectors.
Surco Tapestry Art works according to the principles of fair trade, providing fair wages, labor conditions, training and support to its master weavers. To support our team, we have founded the `Young Tapestry Artist Program` (YTAP).
No child labor or animal maltreatment were involved in the production process of the piece nor of its components.
All tapestries are provided with a certificate of product quality and authenticity stitched at the back, and signed by hand by Hector Surco.
Our tapestries last a lifetime and longer under normal use, that is as a wall-hanging.
To maintain the tapestry in the best condition, gently hoover off the dust. Avoid humidity or dry cleaning with chemicals. It normally keeps its bright colors over time and can be exposed to sunlight.
Please note that all designs and works of art of Surco Tapestry Art are protected by copyrights. Copyrights give the artist Hector Surco nombre completo mas dni the exclusive right to copy, distribute, publicly perform, and make derivative works from his designs and works of art. These include among others his workshops, trainings and printed materials like pictures, e-books, and workbooks.
No materials may be copied, distributed, publicly performed or used without the explicit permission of the artist in writing. Permission may be solicited by e-mailing us at: hsurco.10@gmail.com. We are happy to consider any way we may be of service to you.
Please be aware that using our work without permission maybe liable to legal action that will be recovered from the perpetrator.
Please note that commissioned work of art will be listed as a commissioned work of art within our register. Although copyrights on the design and work remain with the artist, you have permission to freely use pictures of the design in your online and offline communication channels mentioning the artist, Hector Surco.
Physical copies of the design and art work are not permitted without the explicit permission in writing and crediting, of the artist. Permission may be solicited by e-mailing us at: hsurco.10@gmail.com. We are happy to consider any way we may be of service to you.

Hector Surco, and his company Surco Tapestry Art, may continue to use the design as part of exhibitions, articles and other promotions of Surco Tapestry Art, fully acknowledging the commissioner.
It is understood that commissioned designs and works of art will not be reproduced for sale to any third party without the explicit permission of, or at the explicit request of the commissioner in writing.
Please note that in case the commissioner wishes to sell, gift, give in inheritance, offer as collateral or in any way transfer the work of art to a new owner, these terms and conditions will be transferred to and apply to the new owner.
We kindly request the new owner to register with Surco Tapestry Art by e-mail shop@surcotapestryart.com to prevent the occurrence of any misunderstanding and to protect the value of the work of art acquired.
Surco Tapestry Art ships its tapestries with DHL which has proven to be a reliable partner.
A tracking number will be provided to you for each shipment, so you can keep track of your order.
Surco Tapestry Art offers free shipping for orders over $1000 USD. To orders under $1000,- USD a shipping fee will apply.
At an additional charge, it is possible to buy an insurance to cover the cost of the tapestry in the unlikely case of damages or loss during shipment. The conditions of DHL apply to all insurances, although quotes can be obtained at our office by email, shop@surcotapestryart.com.
Insurance of the tapestry itself is left to the discretion of the owner.
All cancellations should be made in written form indicating the motive for annulment. For purchases of art works you may send it to shop@surcotapestryart.com. For bookings of workshops or trainings, please send it to book@surcotapestryart.com.
In case of online purchases or bookings, written cancellations received within 48 hours after our confirmation by email are eligible for a full refund.
As we proceed with the purchase of materials and services for your order after 48 hours, cancellations made after 48 hours after confirmation may therefore be subject to penalties and administrative cost, as is the case with contracted services.
Thus, it will not always be possible to obtain a full refund. Therefore, we strongly advise you to take an insurance, that may cover your costs in such cases.
Surco Tapestry Art may be forced to cancel their services because of force majeure beyond our control that make it impossible to deliver the services as specified. A refund of your payment will be offered of which 10% will be withheld to cover administrative costs. The motive for this type of cancellations will be announced to the client in writing.
Surco Tapestry Art reserves the sole right to refrain from providing their services, such as workshops, trainings and events to anyone who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or in whatever way has lost the control over his or her faculties, or due to whatever circumstance or state, poses a real or potential danger to his or her own safety or that of the other participants.
It is the responsibility of the customer to pay the upfront and the balances of the contracted product or service within the deadlines established by Surco Tapestry Art. In case of non fulfilment the company reserves the right to cancel the booking or order without offering a refund of the down payment.
We are convinced that we offer the highest quality tapestries. If, however, for whatever reason you are not content with your online purchase, we offer a 30-day money back guarantee.
Customers have the right to return products bought through our web shop within 30 days after receiving the product shipped to them, according to the tracking information of DHL.
Please inform us of your decision by writing to shop@surcotapestryart.com within 30 days of receiving the product and include the tracking number of your return shipment.
The refund will be transferred as soon as we receive the product back in good order, subtracting the initial cost of shipping in case of orders over $1000 (USD). Return shipping costs are for the buyer.
An exception applies to commissioned works of art. As commissioned works of art are especially designed and produced for the buyer, involving the buyer’s approval of the design, coloring and production specifications, unfortunately, it is not possible to accept returns.
Our works of art are shipped in an impeccable condition and packed in such a way as to protect them optimally during shipment. We take pictures of the packaging that will be sent to you together with the tracking code.
In case any damage should occur during shipment or delivery, this information may offer you proof for the insurance company. Please note that insurance of the shipment comes at an additional cost.
Surco Tapestry Art is a company and web shop operating under Peruvian national law. It is supervised by the Institute for the Protection of Competition and Intellectual Property of Peru, Indecopi.
